Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The kept area keeps all its original pixels. JPG and WebP are saved at the quality you choose (92 by default) and PNG stays lossless.
How do I make a round profile picture?
Turn on Round crop. The crop becomes a square and the corners are made transparent in a PNG file, ready for any profile photo.
Can I crop many photos the same way?
Yes. Set the crop on one image and press Apply this crop to all. With a fixed ratio each image gets the largest centered crop of that shape.
What size should I crop to?
Common choices: 1:1 for profile and Instagram square posts, 4:5 for Instagram portrait, 9:16 for stories, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and slides.
